INTRO The intro is 16 measures long, and consists of an 8 measure keyboard part which plays through once unaccompanied, then repeats with bass guitar. If you wish, you can play bass guitar the first time through and on the repeat, but this is not done on the recording. The bridge is 32 measures long, the first eight is only guitar, then the bass joins for the last 24 measures. The bass plays an 8-measure pattern, with a slight variation on the third repeat. The bridge is played entirely in quavers (eighth notes). Measure 5 requires a bit of a stretch to get between frets 2 and 5 at that tempo, but practice will make perfect – and remember it is better to slide your wrist up the neck than to force your fingers into uncomfortable positions. Each of the first 15 measures has two bass notes played, each note is held for two beats (a minim or half note). The first 3 beats of measure sixteen are played with quavers (eight notes) and beat 4 is played as a crotchet (quarter note) so the measure counts 1- and 2-and 3-and 4.
